A hobby is something you do only when and because you enjoy it.

Homeschooling isn't a hobby. It's a job.

Homeschooling is a job. It is work we do when we enjoy it, when it plays to our strengths, but it's also work we do when we are tired, when we'd rather not, and when it demands us to work on our weaknesses. It is a job not because we get paid and not because it's equivalent to a hired position that's worth a paycheck.
Do the work every day - with us.

It's a job because it's a responsibility we've taken on, a responsibility to others, for others.

The Work of Homeschooling will give you the support you need to do the job - with diligence and delight.

During the 8 week Work of Homeschooling live challenge, we'll take the brand new 6-week Work of Homeschooling course and put it into practice slowly and steadily, day by day building consistency in both diligence and delight. This course and this challenge is included inside Simply Convivial Membership.

Here's a sneak peek of what The Work of Homeschooling holds.

During the live challenge, August 19-October 16, every week will come with an email, a checklist, and a live troubleshooting chat (replays available). There will also be many, many women discussing their ideas, obstacles, victories, and camaraderie inside Convivial Circle.

  • Module 1 - Preparation - We will gear up our minds and our materials to dig in and do the work set before us. This includes setting up our stuff, creating a start-up ritual for ourselves, and beginning the practice of a homeschool weekly review.

  • Module 2 - Intention - We will learn about showing up with determined, diligent delight every day and create checklists that help us with that goal.

  • Module 3 - Attention - We will be the role models of attention in our homeschool and set aside time for one-on-one meetings weekly with each of our students.

  • Module 4 - Action - We will take small but specific actions that will dramatically boost our consistency: we will find a way to start the day together with good will and keep an announcement board to facilitate communication.

  • Module 5 - Inspection - We will commit to looking at all work we require to be done and learn about applying consequences (both positive and negative, but both for the growth and development of our children).

  • Module 6 - Repetition - We will learn not to be discouraged by the repetitive nature of learning and life, but rather to use that to our advantage and not grow weary in doing good.

In addition to the course, the live challenge support includes
